Fog – a poem

Inspired by hazy weather that has engulfed us for the past few days.

I am writing this prologue
because of the haunting dense fog

My daughter is playing on leapfrog
my son is doing an imitation of a hedgehog
and my husband is working on his lapdog (laptop)

The fog has been charging like a raging bulldog
I didn’t dare to go for my quotidian jog
instead devoured a humongous hotdog

Waiting to get rid of the smog
waiting for the air to unclog
waiting for declaration by groundhog
while slurping delicious, boozy eggnog
